Ready to start your fostering journey?

In order to be considered to become a Foster Carer in Ireland, you must meet the following essential criteria:

  • You need be over 25 years of age.

  • You need to have a spare room.

  • You must hold a full and valid driving licence and have access to a vehicle.

  • You must have flexibility in your working arrangements.

  • You don’t need to own your own home but if renting, you must have permission from your landlord.

  • If you have children, your youngest child must be at least 3 years of age.
