The Role:

As a Psychologist within our MDT, you will work with children, young people, parents and foster carers to promote emotional wellbeing, stability and positive outcomes. The role offers a balance of direct clinical work, consultation and collaborative MDT input.

Your Work May Include:

  • Psychological assessment and formulation

  • Clinical guidance /therapeutic intervention using evidence‑based approaches

  • Consultation and support to foster carers and professionals

  • Participation in MDT case planning and reviews

  • Expert witness testimony (if relevant)

  • Contribution to reflective practice and service development

Who We are Looking For:

We welcome applications from motivated, fully qualified, professional Psychologists who are passionate about working with children and families and who value collaboration, reflective practice and high‑quality care.

Essential Requirements:

  • A recognised postgraduate professional qualification in Psychology (Clinical/Educational/Counselling/Forensic)

  • Eligibility for chartered membership with the Psychological Society of Ireland (PSI)

  • Internationally qualified psychologists require evidence of prior validation of qualifications via Dept of Health

  • 2 years experience working with children and/or families

  • Strong communication and report‑writing skills

  • Ability to work both independently and as part of an MDT

  • Experience in trauma‑informed, attachment‑focused or systemic work is desirable but not essential.

Desirable Experience /Additional Training:

Autism and developmental assessments compatible with DSM‑5 / ICD‑11 diagnostic criteria, e.g., ADOS‑2 / ADI‑R training (or equivalent, e.g., DISCO)

Medicolegal / court experience (e.g., parenting capacity, child protection/safeguarding, family law proceedings)

Trauma‑informed / trauma-specific assessments/interventions

Attachment assessment /intervention (e.g., DMM model – MotC, CAPA, MIM tools, etc.).
