As a leading Fostering Agency, we believe that every child in care deserves a loving and supportive home. Fostering First is dedicated to providing exceptional, high-quality foster care placements and support to young people in care and our expanding network of foster families.
Led by Marie Faughey, our Senior Leadership Team has extensive experience in fostering and understands the challenges that foster carers face. We are dedicated to ensuring that our foster carers feel confident and are equipped to meet the unique needs of each child in a placement with Fostering First.

As CEO of the company Marie holds overall responsibility for all the services delivered by Fostering First.
Taryn O'Hara
Business Support Manager
Taryn manages the business functions of the agency along with the human resource function.
Elaine O'Byrne
Principal Social Worker
Elaine manages the Social Work Service within Fostering First as well as the Children Services Manager and the Therapy and Education Services.
Nóra Ní Thuama
Principal Social Worker
Nora currently manages the Recruitment and Assessment team and has oversight of the Placement Team.

MDT Service Director
Sarah manages the MDT service provided by Fostering First Ireland

Children’s Services Manager
Aideen manages our Children’s Services Team of social care workers and education staff.
Dean Shannon
Placements and Marketing Manager
Dean manages the placements team along with the marketing output for Fostering First.

Assessment Team Manager
Elaine manages the assessment and review team in Fostering First.
Jessica Mooney
Recruitment and Marketing Officer
Jess is the first point of contact when someone contacts the agency regarding fostering.
Ruth Chapman
Quality and Training Manager
Ruth coordinates training for both staff and carers and ensures that Fostering First maintains its high standard of care to children, carers and staff
Fiona Power
Assessment Supervisor
Fiona helps to oversee assessments carried out by Fostering First. This role includes the coordinating of training for applicants in assessment.

Social Work Team Manager
Mary manages the Social Work Team in the Mid-Region of the country.
Joanna Murray
Social Work Team Manager
Joanna manages the Social Work Team in the Northern Region of the country.

Social Work Team Manager
Claire manages the Social Work Team in the Southern Region of the country.

Transfer to FFI
Fostering allowances for all foster carers are set by the Minister for Children. They represent the maximum that can be paid by us or other independent fostering agencies.
