Social Care Worker (Leinster)

Fostering First Ireland are recruiting the following position:

Social Care Worker (Leinster) – Full Time (Permanent) HOME BASED

Flexible working, salary commensurate with experience, private health insurance, private pension contribution, generous Annual Leave entitlement.

You are required to live in the following geographical area to allow easy access to the case load:

We are looking for a dynamic, enthusiastic, self-motivated Social Care Worker who can both work independently and collaboratively within an organisation committed to best practice. Responsibilities:

  • To provide support to children and young people placed with FFI foster carers.
  • To provide support to the birth children of FFI foster carers.
  • To promote children and young people’s participation within FFI.
  • To contribute to the development of children’s services through the provision of training/workshops in response to the identified needs of service users.
  • To work collaboratively with the wider FFI team and external stakeholders

Knowledge and experience:

  • A recognised qualification (minimum Level 7) in Social Care, Youth Work or equivalent.
  • A minimum of 3 year’s experience of working directly with children/young people in the care system or other related field.
  • Knowledge of theoretical frameworks underpinning work with children and adolescents.
  • A sound knowledge of child protection procedures and the requirements of the Children First Act 2015.

  • Ability to work on own initiative and in collaboration with a multi-disciplinary team 
  • Committed to best practice and be innovative and open to change
  • You must have a full, clean driving licence
  • You must have good organisational, IT and paperwork management skills
  • This role requires flexibility regarding working hours including regular evening and occasional weekend working and extensive travel.
