About Us
Established as Key Assets Consulting in 2018 and merged with its sister company Fostering First Ireland (FFI) in 2025, our MDT service provides high-quality, multidisciplinary assessment and consulting services to children and families.
Our highly experienced consulting team includes:
- Senior Psychologists
- Speech and Language Therapists
- Occupational Therapists
- Social Workers
We primarily support children and families referred by Tusla Child and Family Agency and the HSE.
Where Are Our MDT Services Based?
- Locations: Children’s Clinics and consulting rooms in Dublin and Cork.
- Mobile Services: Nationwide mobile consulting for Tusla.
- Remote Services: Many professional services are available via video conferencing.

- For Social Workers, Solicitors, and HSE Personnel: Please contact MDTreferrals@ffi.ie.
- Private Clients: Unfortunately, our waiting list for private clients is currently closed due to high demand.
Our Services
Services for Children in Care / Child Protection Proceedings / Welfare Proceedings
- Psychological Assessments: Informing care plans for children in care, supporting child protection decision-making, and facilitating aftercare plans.
- Expertise includes Clinical, Educational, Forensic, and Counselling Psychology.
- Specialists trained in areas such as attachment, trauma, autism, parenting capacity, and addiction recovery.
- Specialist Assessments:
- Attachment Assessments: Using methodologies like the Meaning of the Child Interview, Parent Development Interview, Care Indexes, CAPA, Adult/Child Attachment Interviews, and Story Stem Attachment Measures.
- Parenting Capacity & Reunification Viability Assessments: Led by senior psychologists and tailored to family-specific risk factors using the Budd PCA protocol.
- Independent Social Work Assessments: For childcare/family law proceedings, including Section 20 assessments, Initial CPW Assessments, and international social work matters.
- Speech and Language Therapy (SLT) Assessments
- Occupational Therapy (OT) Assessments
- Comprehensive Multidisciplinary Assessments
- Remote Clinical Guidance / Intervention Supports
- Services include:
- Implementing assessment recommendations.
- Supporting caregivers and children in care (funding approval by Tusla required).
- Coordinating complex therapeutic plans.

Services Provided for HSE
Children’s Clinics
- MDT Assessments: For children and young people undergoing an Assessment of Need (AON) under the Disability Act, 2005.
- Referrals must come through the local AON team.
Additional Support Services
- Psychology, SLT, OT, and MDT Consulting Services: Supporting other children’s services, such as CDNTs, subject to funding agreements.
